1 (10-16 ounce) package frozen corn**3 tablespoons butter
3 tablespoons flour, adding more if needed to thicken
2 cups milk
2-3 tablespoons sugar
salt and pepper to taste
Cook corn according to package directions. Melt butter in saucepan, stir in flour and blend well. Add milk, about 1/2 cup at a time, and blend with whisk. Cook over medium heat until thickened. Stir in sugar, salt and pepper. Add cooked, drained corn. Serve.
**The night I made this dish, I did not have frozen corn. I ended up using two cans of whole kernel corn (drained) and it turned out wonderfully. Just heat through once you add corn from the can. Jake, who does not like creamed corn from the can, raved about this simple side dish.
